In December of 2024, Jason attempted a 60 mile backpacking route through the mountains of Southern Spain—alone. It would start in beautiful Ronda, in the mountains of Southern Spain—and end at Estepona along the Mediterranean coast. He also hoped to climb all 16 via ferratas along the way. With winter approaching, limited time, and minimal gear, it would be a challenge. Backpacking in Spain is certainly different from in the US. Follow along as Jason encounters lost trails, never-ending private land, barb wire fences, wild pigs, high speed and low speed ziplines, lots of extraplomo, a lonely sheep, unexpected holidays, interesting camp spots, gorgeous locations, and kindness from a stranger.
