Proposed bill would allow terminal patients to use medical cannabis in Pennsylvania hospitals

A new bill introduced in the Pennsylvania Senate is looking to expand medical marijuana use for terminal patients who are actively receiving treatment in hospitals. The proposed legislation, known as the Compassionate Access to Medical Cannabis Act - or Ryan’s Law - was introduced by Senator John Kane. The bill is named after a California man who used medical marijuana during his final weeks of pancreatic cancer treatment. Pennsylvania legalized medical marijuana nine years ago, but current law limits use to patients outside of hospital settings.
