The subject of today's presentation is Georgia O'Keeffe (1887-1986), an influential American modernist painter renowned for her large-format paintings of flowers, New Mexico landscapes, and New York City buildings. She is regarded as one of the most significant figures in 20th-century American art. Nothing is sacred when it comes to the truth in our eyes. Our resident Art lecturer and history expert wants to show us how this icon of femininity was in some very questionable relationships with people of less than reputable character, with a less than organic rise to fame, as well as the occult, sexual and even magical undertones of her beloved artworks. We also explore her nearby contemporaries, friends, and inspirations for her works, which include Oppenheimer, Aleister Crowley, Jack Parsons, the secret space program and even the Atomic bomb. This is not one to miss! Links promised in the show: Wikipedia article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inventi... Why Files episode: • Killer Patents & Secret Science Vol. 1 | F...
