Creating a Butterfly Puddler

The last a final addition to my boat raised bed garden is a butterfly puddler. Butterflies like to congregate on wet sand and mud to partake in “puddling." Puddling is an action that butterflies enjoy when drinking water and extracting minerals from damp puddles. It is more often practiced by male butterflies than females. The minerals and salts help the males produce pheromones for mating and attracting females. Make sure you leave so fruit for the butterflies. Rotting fruit releases gases with will entice and draw in the butterflies.
