Did you know Gibson made guitars in Japan? Traditionally we think of Gibson guitars being made exclusively in the United States, however, for a brief period Gibson made guitars under a sub-brand, Orville and Orville by Gibson (named after Gibson's founder, Orville Gibson) in Japan, exclusively for the Japanese market. Orville guitars would be made from 1988 to 1998. These guitars were originally intended to bridge the gap from the new, at the time, Korean made Epiphone guitars, and the Gibson USA guitars. Orville guitars are revered and for good reason. They are some of the best Les Paul guitars (and other Gibson style guitar models) at a great price. What are your thoughts on the Orville line?
