India Marks Milestone with Launch of 150th Vande Bharat Express

Bengaluru, August 10 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi today flagged off three new Vande Bharat Express trains from Bengaluru, taking the total number of Vande Bharat services across the country to 150. These new semi-high-speed trains will directly benefit the states of Karnataka, Maharashtra, Jammu & Kashmir, and Punjab, further accelerating regional connectivity, development, and self-reliance. The Three New Vande Bharat Routes and Key Stops: Belagavi – Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna (Bengaluru) Vande Bharat Express Key Stops: Dharwad, Hubballi, Haveri, Davanagere, Tumakuru, Yeshwantpur This marks the 11th Vande Bharat service in Karnataka. Belagavi, a rapidly developing city in north Karnataka, is now connected to the tech capital Bengaluru, enhancing regional access for education, healthcare, tourism, and business. The train will significantly reduce travel time on the 500 km route and improve access to popular tourist destinations like Hampi, Gokarna, and Badami. Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra – Amritsar Vande Bharat Express Key Stops: Jammu Tawi, Pathankot Cantt, Jalandhar City, Beas With this addition, Jammu & Kashmir now has 4 Vande Bharat services, while Punjab’s count rises to 3. The route strengthens religious and cultural tourism between two major pilgrimage sites. Ajni (Nagpur) – Pune Vande Bharat Express Key Stops: Wardha, Badnera, Akola, Bhusawal, Jalgaon, Manmad, Kopargaon, Ahmednagar, Daund Chord Line Maharashtra now operates 6 Vande Bharat trains. This service enhances connectivity between the state’s education and industrial hubs, further boosting opportunities in trade and commerce.
