Hello, neighbors. It's Brad here from etrailer, and today we are taking a look at installing the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver on a 2025 Kia Sorento. The Sorento is a great little SUV if for hauling people. Ours has all wheel drive, so even inclement weather, this thing will do a lot of great things. So whatever adventure you may be going on, having a little extra real estate to add some of your accessories or do some extra work with your Sorento is gonna be really beneficial. And the best way to do that is adding a trailer hitch receiver. The etrailer one is one of my personal favorites because it's a hitting cross tube, meaning the only thing you're really gonna see when installed is gonna be the receiver tube opening, and the safety chain loops. The etrailer also has a matte black powder coat finish, which I think matches the plastics on the vehicle really well, and it holds up two chips, and scratches better than some of the other gloss black hitches that are out there on the market. Now, being that this is a two inch by two inch means that it's kind of the standard size when it comes to trailer hitch receivers. So when you pick a ball mount, a bike rack or a cargo carrier, you're gonna have tons of options available. Now all of the accessories are gonna stay in place with a five eighth pin and clip. Now this is not included with the hitch, but many times when you pick up accessories they're gonna have a pin and clip included, but if not, you can always pick up one here at etrailer. Or if you plan on leaving accessories on for an extended period, it might be worthwhile to get a locking pin and clip. It's a really good deterrent from anyone walking by. They can't just take out the pin and clip, and those accessories with them. Our safety chain loops are a plate style, makes it nice and easy for hooking up your safety chains if you're pulling a trailer. So standard S hook is no problem. Clevis style hooks can also go on there. You may have to kind of put it at a slight angle, but they will still be able to hook up, no problem. If you are planning on towing a trailer, you're gonna want to adhere to the weight capacities, not only of the hitch but also what the vehicle's rated to tow. Just because a hitch is rated for something doesn't mean the vehicle can, whether it be the drive, train, transmission, suspension, whatever it may be. So double-check that. But our capacities on our hitch are actually really good. You have a gross trailer weight rating of 4,000 pounds, and that's gonna be the weight of the trailer plus the accessories loaded onto it. As far as tongue weight, that's the downward pressure on the inside of the receiver tube opening, and really accounts for a lot of your suspended accessories like cargo carriers and bike racks. This one comes in at 600 pounds. So what does that mean Well, a four bike bike rack fully loaded up shouldn't even go over 600 pounds. A cargo carrier on vacation loaded up shouldn't really go over 600 pounds, so you're really gonna be able to load this up with those accessories. Definitely something great. But also keep in mind when you're pulling that trailer, you're gonna wanna make sure that all of your accessories, your ball, your ball mount, they're all gonna be at that weight capacity, and nothing's getting overloaded. And when choosing accessories, you want to make sure that this is gonna work with your vehicle. So measuring from the center of our hitch pin hole to the furthest point of our fascia, we're right at about four inches and that really comes into play for folding accessories, cargo carriers and bike racks that stow some vehicles. It sits too far back to where it will make contact before it can even fold up. And that's really not the case here. I don't think you'll have any issues. Now keep in mind when those are folded up, it's possible you may block your license plate, your backup camera. I don't worry too much about your taillights here, but just something to keep in mind. Now, ground clearance is gonna be important. This is gonna come in at 16 inches, and not that I think that this is gonna bottom out, but more so forward choosing the right ball mount. So best way to figure out the perfect rise or drop necessary is if you have your trailer available, get it on level ground measure from the
