In Kerala University, 192 seats are vacant across 14 government colleges, while there are no takers for 2,446 seats in 39 aided colleges. Over 50% of the seats are vacant in 34 Institutes of Technology which are run directly by the university. It’s a similar scene in 60 self-financing colleges. But the worst off is Kottayam-based state-run Mahatma Gandhi University. At MG University, over 50% of seats remain vacant even after the completion of the admission process.
