This is a Full Album Stream from Deafheavens Sunbather with Lyrics Deafheaven is an American blackgaze band formed in 2010. Originally based in San Francisco Timestamp 00:00 - Dream House 09:14 - Irresistible 12:27 - Sunbather 22:44 - Please Remember 29:10 - Vertigo 43:50 - Windows 48:30 - The Pecan Tree Dream House: it’s about the obsession with wealth, and the idea of a “dream house”– everyone has one, whether or not it’s a priority. I’ll walk down the street in San Francisco and think, “I love that house.“ It’s a symbol of everything I don’t have - George Clarke Sunbather: “Sunbather” expands on a specific memory of George Clarke’s, as he drove around the affluent parts of San Luis Obispo (where his mother lives) and observed the extreme income inequality on display there. As such, it is fitting as a title track, as much of the album expands on this idea. Clarified Clarke: "I have always had an obsession with wealth. Anger for it, yet longing for it. It is a theme that is presented throughout the record." Please Remember: The first entire passage is from Chapter 17 of Milan Kundera’s novel The Unbearable Lightness Of Being. The passage is read by Stéphane Paut of Alcest, a French shoegaze band. Deafheaven vocalist George Clarke stated in a Pitchfork interview: "That passage is really important to me. It just screams insecurity, which I have huge faults with." - George Clarke Vertigo: In this song, Clarke reflects on his past and regrets all of the actions which brought him to his current state. He looks up at the windows of nice penthouses, but all they do is shine back towards him. He can never have, what the wealthy have. Windows: Windows is Sunbather’s last interlude and contains two overflowing samples. The first is a live recording of preacher in downtown San Francisco, California, about which vocalist George Clarke claimed: "They’re there all the time, yelling at crowds." The second sample is a recording of guitarist Kerry McCoy dealing drugs. Around the time of recording Sunbather, McCoy was addicted to pharmaceutical opiates and Clarke wished to record one of his drug deals to include something that was very personal to his fellow band member. Clarke commented on the content of the track stating: "Thematically, it’s supposed to be about this guy talking about the evils of hell intermixed with one’s own personal hell and the actual realities like addiction and self-worth, not the fire and brimstone. [McCoy] didn’t have a lot of money, and he was kind of desperate; he’s showcasing the true horrors that are here on earth—one’s own personal demons." The Pecan Tree: In this song, Clarke expresses how he feels towards his father. He blames his father for all of his failures because he feels his father is responsible thanks to the passing of genetics from Clarke’s father, to Clarke. I can´t guarantee if the lyrics are 100 correct% during the middle part of Dream House, because its not really understandable what he is saying © 2013 Deathwish Inc. rights go to their respective owners i do not own this content
