Is such a pricey city as London worth a visit on a budget? The short answer is : yes! On our recent 24h getaway in London we came up with the PERFECT itinerary for a budget trip to London. Early December, the Christmas lights in London are already on but the crowds aren't that big yet and the parks look dreamy with their golden leaves. Only downside, it's cold and it will probably rain. Here are 5 must see places in Central London that are absolutely free of charge. 1) Chinatown : This neighbourhood is still a bit of the radar. The Chinese decor is gorgeous and you can find great asian food at affordable prices. Don’t miss out on the entry gate! 2) Covent Garden : With its famous Covent Garden Market and its colourful streets, this neighbourhood is great for a walk and some shopping. You’ll find lots of interesting boutiques and dining options. 3) London’s parks : I didn’t even consider the parks for our trip since I thought it would be too cold to enjoy them, but they are absolutely stunning in the fall. Our favourite was St James’s Park but we only saw a few of them. 4) Changing of The King's Life Guard : a unique ceremony that you can only witness in London and it’s totally free. Every weekday at 11am. 6) Borough Market and a walk on the South Bank to Tower Bridge : Borough Market is a culinary delight. These are just a few tips, ideal for 1 day in London, but the choices are endless. Bonus tips : 1) if it rains, choose from London’s many free museums or go to one of its public libraries. 2) don’t take hop on buses, take public transportation instead. 3) don’t stay in zone 1. By staying further away from the city centre you’ll find more affordable accommodation and you’ll be able to explore an area you wouldn’t otherwise go to. 00:00 Intro 00:18 Arriving 01:08 Soho 1:22 Ramen in London 02:00 Chinatown 02:19 Christmas Lights 03:20 Covent Garden 04:22 Dinner 04:48 South Bank 06:25 English Pubs 07:18 Breakfast 07:31 Piccadilly Street 08:22 The Mall and Buckingham Palace 10:17 Changing of The King's Life Guard 12:01 Westminster & Big Ben 13:24 Borough Market & Tower Bridge #london #24hinLondon #1dayinLondon #ChristmasinLondon #Changingoftheguard #UK #travel #travelvlog #londonvlog
