New BYD Han DM-i in-depth Walkaround The Han DM-i is a facelift of the original Han DM that places a focus on fuel economy. The model offers four versions, three of which have a 121-kilometre (75 mi) battery range, and one with a range of 242 kilometres (150 mi). The DM-i model has a combined range of up to 1,300 kilometres (810 mi). In terms of performance, the Han DM-i boasts a fuel consumption rate of 4.2 litres per 100 km, equivalent to 56 US mpg and 67.26 UK mpg. The vehicle runs on a combination of petrol and electricity. It has a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of 7.9 seconds and meets China VI emission standards. As an electric hybrid, the Han DM-i has a gross battery capacity of 18.3 kWh and utilizes lithium-ion technology. The all-electric range, as per NEDC, is 121 km (75.19 mi). The electric motor produces 197 horsepower and 316 Nm of torque. The internal combustion engine provides 139 horsepower and 231 Nm of torque. The Han DM-i has a wheelbase of 2,920 mm (115.0 in), a length of 4,960 mm (195.3 in) or 4,975 mm (195.9 in) for the DM-i model, a width of 1,910 mm (75.2 in), and a height of 1,495 mm (58.9 in). The vehicle features a front, transverse engine with a displacement of 1497 cm3 and four inline cylinders. The engine also includes a direct injection system, turbocharger, and start & stop system.
