You can never have too many amps… but which ones do we love the most? Today it’s these, tomorrow it may be different! Life too short for long YouTube videos? If you’re not new then you will know that Dan and I love amps every bit as much as we love guitars. In fact we did a show a few weeks back covering every guitar in our possession as of July 2020. Cue a cacophony of calls to document our amps, to which we respond: “Yay! But verily we cannot do them all, for we are old and they are heavy and a PITA to cram into a single filming session.” Please note, these are OUR 10 fave amps that we have in our possession today, not the 10 Best Amps In The World Ever. That would be a different list! Honourable mention. One brand we haven’t included here – the elephant in the room; the glaring exception – is Fender. Let it be said loud and clear that the guitar amp market would be nothing without Fender amps: they are the basis from which all rock’n’roll guitar tone was built. If we owned them, a Deluxe Reverb, Princeton Reverb, tweed Deluxe and tweed Bassman would be in the list. For reasons we can’t explain, we don’t own any of these amps. Maybe because they are the foundation from which our fancy pants boutique stuff is built. Hmmmm….
