Thousands of people today converged at Christ the King Catholic Church in Central Division of Kabale Municipality in Kabale District to bid farewell to the fallen secondary school teacher of St Mary’s College Rushoroza one Spirious Twijukye. Twijukye sadly passed away on a Sunday night at Rushoroza Hospital due to health problems. Tumwijukye, a committed teacher specializing in History and Geography at St. Mary’s College Rushoroza, devoted more than two decades of his life to this school. Before his teaching career, he was actively involved in politics, serving as a representative on the youth council in the greater Kabale District. The solemn ceremony held at Christ the King saw heartfelt eulogies delivered by representatives from the government, the church, and the teacher's family. ////////////////////////////////////// In somber unity, the school head teacher, Monday Christopher, along with the school staff and students whom the late Twijukye had been teaching at St. Mary's College Rushoroza, gathered to bid their last farewell to the beloved educator, Spirious Twijukye. Spirious had been a dedicated teacher at St. Mary's College Rushoroza for two decades, impacting the lives of many learners during his long and devoted service. During the gathering, Monday Christopher, the school head teacher, fondly described the late Twijukye as a hardworking and cooperative educator who was unwaveringly dedicated to his mission of ensuring that students excelled and succeeded in life. While representing the government, the Chief Mourner Hon Henry Musasizi who is also the State Minister for Finance praised the late Twijukye for his unwavering commitment to education and the betterment of the youth. Hon Musasizi described the teacher as a role model and an inspiration to generations of students who passed through St. Mary College. During his sermon at the Mass, Rev. Fr. Reuben Mubangi, the pastoral coordinator of Kabale Diocese, urged the congregation to turn to the church during difficult times. Mubangizi emphasized that Spirious Twijukye's unwavering faith and strong moral values were not only evident in his role as an exceptional educator but also in his devotion as a servant of God. In a heartfelt tribute, family members of the late Twijukye, led by his widow, Denise Twijukye, shared personal anecdotes that provided a poignant glimpse into the teacher's life beyond the classroom. Denise Twijukye also opened up about the health complications her husband faced until the time of his passing, shedding light on the challenges he bravely confronted. Born in 1972, the late Twijukye left behind four children: Noeline Nahabwe, a Journalism graduate with a diploma; Austine Agaba, who holds a diploma in Computer Science; and Ainerugaba Lin and Leona. During their speeches, the children lovingly expressed their father's warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to their family. They emphasized how his love extended far beyond the boundaries of the college, touching every aspect of their lives. Other mourners also shared their sentiments, describing how the late Twijukye will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of the students he taught, his colleagues, and all those fortunate enough to have known this exceptional educator. The funeral service came to a close with the burial of Spirious Twijukye's remains at his final resting place, which is located at his home in Rutenga Cell, Nyabikoni Ward, Central Division in Kabale Municipality.
