In Bitterfeld findet man zum Beispiel hinter dem Fritz-Heinrich-Stadion das Strandbad an der Goitzsche. Dort gibt es einen Sandstrand mit angrenzender Liegewiese und für das leibliche Wohl sorgt ein Kiosk. Die nordöstliche Bucht heißt auch "Bernsteinsee". Besonders auffällig ist hier der 26 Meter hohe Pegelturm, der auf der Wasseroberfläche schwimmt. Direkt am Turm liegt das Strandbad Bernsteinsee "Am Pegelturm". Auch hier gibt es einen feinen Sandstrand und für die Kleinen einen Spielplatz. Hat man Hunger, findet man an der Bernsteinpromenade Gaststätten und Kiosks. Allerdings gibt es hier keinen Bademeister. Ein Stück weiter östlich befindet sich das Strandbad Bernsteinsee "Mühlbeck". An dem weißen Sandstrand und der Liegewiese kann man sich auf Strandliegen und unter Sonnenschirmen erholen oder mit einem Cocktail von der Strandbar die Sonne genießen.
