The Sacred Name Movement is a group of people who believe it's really important to use the exact name of God when they talk about Him. They think that using the wrong name is disrespectful, so they make sure to always use the right name when they pray or talk about God. In fact, some among this group believe and teach that one cannot be saved unless they use the right name. This is called the "Sacred Name Heresy." The Sacred Name Movement should not be confused with the Hebrew Roots Movement. The Hebrew Roots Movement focuses on following the Jewish traditions and customs to better understand and honor God. It is a very broad group of people and in its core good. The Sacred Namers are a small group of Hebrew Roots folk who have caused division and created their own little cult that perverts the gospel. I met a few of these people. They scare me... And they tend to have an air of superiority. Preferring to use the Hebrew name of our Lord Yeshua over the English name Jesus is one thing. Condemning those who don't use the Hebrew name, or the fake name Yah-shua, is wrong.
