Treating possible stem rot on Phalaenopsis Orchid

My recently purchased Phalaenopsis tetraspis has a suspicious black patch on her stem, thus it got me a bit worried. So I will try to prevent it from spreading by using some of my preferred methods. ▼▼More info bellow!▼▼▼ First I will use H2O2 3% (hydrogen peroxide) to try and burn away some of the fungal issues and spores, if there are any. After the initial reaction I remove the excess water, this is important as hydrogen peroxide does not leave behind any useful substance, only water. After this I am applying a bit of cinnamon powder only on the affected area, in the hopes that it will dry the affected tissue and not let the disease spread. I am noticing this leaf has another black mark, it might be a problem with the leaf rather than the stem, but I am not sure at this point. We will see how this orchid will do. The hydrogen peroxide / cinnamon treatment is not always efficient, depending on the severity of the case, but in mild infections I did have success with this method. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ✿ Want to send me something?
