Edit - I see periodic comments about how I was chasing the Daytona Prototype. At the time I was racing in a weight/hp based class and there were adjustments for various things to sway your overall number. I was using undersized tires to get a better weight/hp, which were okay for shorter sprint races. The tires would get pretty greasy on the longer 40 minute races. That plus general fatigue/overdriving led to this wreck. First time back at VIR since the new gators. I could tell I was shaving some time in a couple spots, so I just pushed a little too hard during the race. If you're curious about why exactly I yelled "way too much" before hitting the wall, it's because coming into the turn I realized I had too much speed. In my head I was thinking "way too much, way too much" Once I dipped off the track the reality of the situation hit me and I then blurted it out haha.
