Chicago's family owned piano dealer " American Music World" provides grand piano for Grammy winner "Peter Cetera and carriefund.org. Carrie Hudek Chiuso was one of five women shot and killed in a Tinley Park Lane Bryant store Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008. Their killer is unknown. But it's time to stop mourning her loss and start celebrating who she was. Her brother, Mike Hudek, said the family's second Carrie-Fest fundraiser will mimic how she loved to spend time with her family: a classic backyard barbecue and raise money to help disadvantaged youth. "It was such a tragic thing," Hudek said. "You're always going to mourn her. But it's time to start celebrating the kind of person she was." The highlight of the evening was the appearance of the band Chicago's former lead singer Peter Cetera. "Peter Cetera" a Grammy winner who attended Chicago's Morgan Park High School with Carrie's father, was contacted by Mike and gladly donated his time in support of this wonderful cause. Money raised at the event and through the family's corresponding Web site, www.carriesfund.org, will fund a scholarship in her name to Chicago area high school students, from Homewood-Flossmoor and the Lincoln-Way area. The event raised over $130,000 last year and the scholarship went to Homewood-Flossmoor graduate Victoria Nelson. Nelson is a student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She was awarded a monetary scholarship and computer equipment to help her start off her college career on the right foot. For more information on the fundraiser, please visit www.carriesfund.org.
