Watch the full timelapse of my digital painting of Rhulad Sengar, Emperor of the Tiste Edur, from Steven Erikson’s Malazan Book of the Fallen. This piece was painted in Procreate using over 20,000 brush strokes across 10 hours and 31 minutes. It captures Rhulad as a tragic figure—tormented, crowned by gold not as glory, but as a death rite. This was the first painting I completed in my ongoing Malazan series, before discovering the watercolor brushes I now favor. Though the sketch phase was done separately (and untracked), I wanted to preserve this version as a reference point for how my art and storytelling approach have evolved. If you're a fan of dark fantasy, character-focused digital art, or Malazan lore, this video offers an intimate look into my workflow—brush by brush, layer by layer. 🔹 Software: Procreate 🔹 Brush Strokes: 20,142 🔹 Time: 10h 31m 🔹 Canvas: Separate from original sketch phase 🔹 Subject: Rhulad Sengar, Edur Emperor 🔹 Series: Malazan Book of the Fallen Fan Art 🔹 Tone: Tragic, emotional, lore-rich 💀 “He died, and died again, each death leaving him more shattered than the last.” – Inspired by The Bonehunters and Reaper’s Gale Hashtags: #Malazan #RhuladSengar #MalazanArt #DigitalPainting #FantasyArt #ProcreateTimelapse #MalazanBookOfTheFallen #StevenErikson #TisteEdur #DarkFantasy #ArtProcess #TimelapseArt #DigitalArtist #FantasyCharacterArt
