8 weeks travel in the big MAN 15.290 4x4 Expedition Truck. This was it's maiden voyage, having only done a couple of short shake-down trips prior to this. The truck was brilliant. No problems (apart from a cracked windscreen thrown up by some idiot going past at 110 on a dirt road). Setup/Packup time about 5 minutes, in contrast to people with camper trailers and tents, and even a lot of caravans. The Kimberley is fabulous. Still wild and free. No nanny-state rules to keep you safe, you have to use your own common sense. If you only get to one place up in north-west WA, make it Cape Leveque. We could have spent the entire 8 weeks there I think! We're already planning the next holiday, and we've only just got back!
