The new proposal has several provisions that require bias testing and monitoring. But is Europe ready for this task? This session analyses fairness metrics according to their compatibility with EU non-discrimination law metrics, and whether the use of ‘bias preserving’ metrics require legal justification when making decisions that have real impact on people in Europe.
