NOTICE: The RAZOR here was out of service when I visited, so I was unable to retake it. Hope you all understand! To watch a video of the old tunnel wash that was here before, here is the video: • Super Shine Auto Wash: Braintree Site Here is a 2025 retake of Super Shine Auto Wash’s Braintree site! They used to have 2 other locations in Braintree, but one was abandoned and later converted into some mini car dealership or whatever it is, while the other site is currently sitting abandoned, although maps states that it’s temporarily closed, though it’s been closed for a few years now. Super Shine Auto Wash currently operates 7 locations mainly on the South Shore, but have locations in Boston and Hyde Park as well. It is unknown if the Boston site location is still open or not, as a recent review states that it was closed when they tried to visit it. If that’s the case, there are only 6 locations now, with all of them being on the South Shore. 1 in Braintree, 3 in Weymouth, 1 in Hyde Park and one in Plymouth. They used to offer 2 other locations in Braintree and one in Randolph, but both in Braintree were abandoned, with one being converted into a different type of business, and the other currently slitting abandoned. The site in Randolph was abandoned for a few years, but is now a Prestige Car Wash & Gas site. Super Shine currently offers express exterior tunnels, touch free automatics, self service bays and Citgo gas stations. This site here offers a tunnel, touch free automatics, self service bays and a Citgo gas station. There used to be 2 touch free automatics here, both bays featuring PDQ LaserWash 4000s, but one was replaced with a WashWorld RAZOR, while the other was ripped out and was sealed off, presumably being used for storage. The RAZOR was out of service when I visited, so I was unable to do a retake of it. The tunnel wash on the other hand, used to feature all vintage Hanna equipment, and also featured a Shammy Shiner chamois carousel textile drying mitter, which most Super Shine locations had. For dryers, they mostly had Infinity dryers, which is what this site had, but one site in Weymouth had a Superior Hurricane Drying system and ProtoVest SideShots, along with the Shammy Shiner. However, in mid-2016 or earlier to my knowledge, most sites started getting renovations. This included ripping out the Shammy Shiners and older drying systems, and replacing them with Sonny’s dryers, however, that one site in Weymouth only removed the Shammy Shiner, and left everything else. Or, they did a complete renovation and installed all new Sonny’s equipment, which is what happened at 2 Weymouth sites, with one being completely abandoned for a few years, then demolished, then completely rebuilt. Other than the new wash and drying equipment, new FormulaFinish chemicals were implemented, along with new LED lights, signage and arches, to improve the customers experience and give them a cool light show when they purchase a higher wash package. This location, a few months ago, or a year or two ago, I’m not totally sure, recently tore out all of the vintage Hanna wash equipment and installed all new AVW equipment. Most new washes in New England have been installing AVW equipment instead of Sonny’s, which is interesting. The new setup features 2 mitters, wraps, side washers, rocker panel brushes, the OG LED lights, signage and arches, rinse/wax arches and the Sonny’s dryers. Besides the new equipment, the Ceramic Coat was also implemented into the tunnel, and it’s a $5 add-on to any wash and isn’t included in any of the wash packages. The wash shown in this video was the $25 “The Super Shiner” Wash with the $5 Ceramic Coat add-on, and we apparently got the $2 Tire Shine add-on for FREE for some reason. The wash included: *Exterior Car Wash *Underbody Flush w/Rust Fighter *Wheel & Tire Bright *Extra Power Shower *Foam Body Glaze *Triple Foaming Polish *Super High Gloss Hot Wax (FAIL) *Clear Coat Protectant *Ceramic Coat ($5 add-on) *Tire Shine (Normally a $2 add-on, but got for FREE) Wash Quality: 3/10 Comments: the wash did a poor job, as the hot wax never applied and the rinsing was kinda poor, but not too bad, and the drying quality was not good. I was disappointed, as I was expecting the new wash to be good, but it was mediocre. We would’ve used the RAZOR here to clean the car up, but it was broken. However, the employees here were very, VERY friendly and helpful, which was a plus. But at the moment, I’d recommend going to one of their other sites.
