Sam Larry claimed he was chasing Mohbad because he didn't show up to perform on his birthday celebration in Dubai despite the 2 million naira he paid. Although the "2 Million Naira" was PAID to Marlians record not directly to Mohbad personal account. Sam Larry uses various means to get his money back from Mohbad. This include "sending him a message on Instagram which Mohbad didn't respond. He also reported to his lawyer and when his lawyer called Mohbad he didn't pick up. Although Sam Larry did not pay Mohbad directly, he didn't stop pursuing him for the money. On June 25, 2023 Mohbad was having a video shoot at The Elegushi Beach, with Zlatan (another artist). Sam Larry saw them and went over to ask him for his money but said "Zlatan begged him and settled the matter". This scenario is the same video evidence that went "viral" when Mohbad died. After Elegushi Beach incident, Mohbad wrote a petition against Sam Larry and they were both invited three times but Mohbad didnt honour any of the invitations. Sam Larry said he was detained the first day he honoured the first invitation and he was shocked to see what Mohbad had written against him in the petition letter. He proceeds to say he never brought "sticks to beat him nor did he destroy" his musical instrument.
