The 1st of 3 WWF Wrestling games from LJN on the Sega Genesis. Possibly the most basic and straightforward of the bunch as well. It was one of the first wrestling games I ever played (along with WCW/NWO Revenge, WWF Wrestlemania The Arcade Game and WCW Superbrawl Wrestling and its counterpart on SNES.) and I always enjoyed playing it when I was younger. The novelty of flying off the turnbuckles as Hulk Hogan was always fun for me but I never really understood the core gameplay mechanics of the game so I was never good at tag team or having a consistent set of good winning streaks until I was much older, which is funny enough since I hardly play these particular games anymore.I also had NO IDEA AT ALL that in order to execute a body slam or some other type of like that all you had to do was wait for your character sprite to have the optimal momentum when both character sprites are grappling and then all you do is TAP your preferred move/button ONCE....not button mash like most games but just tap it........well now it all makes sense why I could never beat this game as a kid lol. While this port of the game have the signature finishing moves (Hogans Leg Drop, the Ultimate Warriors' Flying Splash etc) the SNES port has a larger roster to choose from and honestly I prefer that...it has Jake "The Snake" Roberts so that's enough for me easily since he's one of my all time favorites along with Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart, Undertaker and Stone Cold Steve Austin. But the flip-side of that is by having the finishing moves can really help in defeating some of your opponents and can turn the tide in your favor. Plus this version of the game is the only one to have an actual tournament mode and feels more satisfying when trying to actually "complete" it. Was a real blast of nostalgia replaying and relearning this game again! Totally worth picking up if you find it for a good price! Thanks for watching! Hope You Enjoy!
