A lot of patients are concerned that the implant has permanent caused some significant chest wall deformities. While it is possible it is relatively rare to have that happen in young health patients. Some older patients with significant bone loss and very tight or encapsulated implants can see some permanent chest wall changes. Also, patients with pectus excavatum can see some significant changes. These patients were born with a sunken appearance of their chest due to congenital issues. The implants often were placed to try to correct these visually. Once the implant is removed these changes become obvious again. But in most young and healthy patients the implants won't cause any permanent changes to their chest wall.
