The sense of the special is reflected in sophisticated details, implemented in traditional engineering and craftsmanship in the automobile factory in Buchloe. The Touring reaches a top speed of 305 km/h. The 100 km/h mark is reached after just 3.5 seconds, and 200 km/h after 12.0 seconds. More power, more revving, excellent response The 3.0 liter inline six-cylinder engine with bi-turbo charging in the current BMW ALPINA 3 Series, which is praised for its pulling power, benefits in the GT version from a noticeable increase in power of 34 hp and now provides 389 kW (529 hp). In countless development kilometers on the test bench and in the car, the ALPINA engineers have revised the engine map in order to keep the high power and power reserves (max. 730 Nm) available in every driving situation and thus underline the confident character of the drive - be it during gentle acceleration in city traffic or under full load on the highway. An 8-speed sports automatic transmission in combination with a fully variable all-wheel drive and a standard, controlled rear axle locking differential ensures that the increased power is converted into impressive driving dynamics. In keeping with the GT character of the drive, the gearshift program has been extensively revised to take account of the high dynamic potential. The GT characteristics are fully reflected in the extensively revised chassis technology: sporty, precise vehicle feedback for exceptional driving dynamics goes hand in hand with the distinctive long-distance comfort that has always been associated with the ALPINA brand. The BMW ALPINA B3 GT models benefit from the stiffened connection of the rear shock absorbers in the body of the revised BMW 3 Series model generation, which further increases the driving dynamics potential. An ALPINA dome front end strut in the front of the car provides additional rigidity and noticeably increases steering precision. Likewise, special attention was paid to driving comfort when tuning the chassis, which is why the ALPINA engineers opted for a new shock absorber configuration.
