Divine Shadows

"Divine Shadows" is an interactive installation inspired by the "Youshen" (Gods Parade) ritual in Southern Fujian. In Minnan culture, gods are not distant figures in temples but act as neighbors residing by the house ("Cuo"). This project attempts to digitize this "perceptible faith." Using digital masks and interactive sensors, it reconstructs the experience of gods emerging amidst daily life. The installation allows the audience to actively engage with traditional culture, transforming them from observers into participants in the digital ritual.
