This video shows LAFD probationary firefighters undergoing a phase test – which happens at the 4-month and 8-month marks in their first year. This test is for Engine Operations, and all firefighters need to know both the engine and truck. They must complete this test in under 14 minutes. They are graded and receive feedback to ensure, as full-fledged firefighters, they are 100% prepared for the job. 0:09 - Don Structural PPEs 1:42 - Lay a Line – Supply Water/No Kinks 3:51 - Don SCBA Harness 4:48 - 20’ Extension to 2nd Floor Window 5:20 - Star Rotary Saw (6 pulls) 5:23 - Rotary Saw Operation (plunge and overhead) 5:38 - Hosepack and Pigtail to 4th Floor 6:20 - Hosepack Hoselay w/Standpipe; “Water” 8:03 - Don SCBA Facepiece For the brave men and women of the LAFD, should anything ever happen to them during a lifetime of service, the Widows, Orphans & Disabled Firefighter’s Fund is here to fulfill their needs. As a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charity founded more than a century ago, our organization is dedicated to helping the families of LAFD firefighters facing a serious crisis, such as being injured or killed in the line of duty. #losangeles The needs of firefighters are unique because the profession poses many dangers and consequences. Thanks to kind and generous contributions, the our Los Angeles firefighter charity makes a significant impact, aiding with items such as basic living expenses, health insurance premiums, durable medical equipment, and awarding memorial scholarships to children of firefighters who died while active duty. #givetoahero #lafirefightercharity givetoahero.org 👉 Learn more or donate: www.GiveToAHero.org
