It Never Rains In Southern California - Cover by "The Sound Effects"

Track C4 from the QMO Double LP, 24 Golden Hits of 1973. This one made famous by singer songwriter Albert Hammond, it peaked at # 5 on the Hot 100 Billboard chart. Kind of a one Hit Wonder, then again, Hammond made a career of writing and co-writing songs for many famous artists. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albert_... I purchased this double Vinyl LP in the '70s as a young teen after seeing it advertised on TV. I didn't get that the songs were not by the original artists, till after I was playing the LP with a friend who told me. It was kind of a scam the way they marketed it, but honestly, I liked many (but not all) of these versions as much or more than the originals. A few years later I lost my first Vinyl collection in a fire. I repurchased some of that collection over time but a few, like this one were harder to come by. I recently was thinking about the album and found a copy online and ordered it. I was lucky, the outside cover was in sad shape, but the vinyl inside must have rarely been played if ever. I recorded it from my 1970s Pioneer Turntable to my Circa 2000 Yamaha CD Recorder, ripped the CD files on my PC and used software to make the videos for uploading here.
