Eisbrecher owns the song. I just wrote this translation and made the video. For a playlist of all the English Lyric videos I've made for Eisbrecher, check here: • Selections from Eisbrecher - English Trans... A note – the ‘denn’ in ‘Kann denn Liebe Sünde sein‘ is an emphasis word that doesn’t translate and just gives the sentence a sort of emphatic tone. It would literally just be translated a ‘can love be (a) sin’ except said with feeling. I took the liberty of saying ‘really now’ to get across the self-righteous exasperated tone I hear in this song, mostly to avoid having ‘can’ or ‘can love’ standing on its own in the video when the lyrics separate a single ‘kann denn’. This song is incredibly disturbing in my opinion. Hopefully I captured its energy. I secretly watched you You are so young and beautiful I bequeathed a kiss to you Then I brought you to bed Come on, don’t struggle Little one, I’ve never coveted Anyone as much as you (Alt take: Little one, I’ve not yet coveted anyone as much as I covet you. Note “kleine” can mean “little one/little girl” when referring to a small child, but it can also be used when talking about an adult woman “that girl/that chick”. I chose little one because I’ve never heard an adult woman addressed as “kleine” without some level of condescension (think “hey, cutie”) or joking (though I suppose it doesn’t mean it can’t be used as a term of endearment). My interpretation of this song has “little girl/little one” make more sense but fee free to switch it to “girl” if you want to age up the person he’a addressing a bit) Can Can love be a sin? No I ask you Can love be a sin No, I won’t ask you again I soundlessly laid you down You are so mute and motionless You’ve driven me against the wall You forced my desire upon yourself
