The electric motor guarantees the instant availability of torque, enabling the E 53 to climb from zero to 60 in 3.7 seconds (with AMG DYNAMIC PLUS package equipped).A 400-volt, 28.6 kWh battery sits at the rear of the vehicle, allowing for additional reserves of energy in high-performance situations. To manage all that power, the E 53 HYBRID avails itself of numerous upgrades in design and technology. The body shell has been reinforced, with enhancements to front and rear struts that deliver optimal lateral dynamics, stability and precision. AMG Performance 4MATIC+ offers superb traction, while managing torque between front and rear axles as conditions demand.The new AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension has been specifically designed and tuned for the E 53’s hybrid system, allowing drivers to adjust between pure electric comfort and edgier performance driving. For even more choice, AMG DYNAMIC SELECT programs offer a range of options, including two specifically developed for the hybrid vehicle: “Electric” and “Battery Hold.” The first allows for pure electric driving, while “Battery Hold” calls on the conventional engine and the hybrid motor as circumstances demand.
