Laura's little brother is sick, which means for the first time she's going on a little holiday all by herself. She's going to stay with her grandparents, and granny takes her there by train. Of course Laura hopes her Star will come with her. It's lovely with granny and granddad, but Laura discovers that she misses her parents and her brother more and more. That evening she feels a pain in her chest that she's never experienced before, and she announces she wants to go home straight away. But her Star encourages her to confide in her grandmother, who explains that Laura's just feeling homesick, and it only shows how much she loves her family. --- In the evening when Laura cannot sleep, she often gazes up at the star-studded sky. One night, she sees a little star falling from the sky. It lands on the pavement right in front of her house. That's the beginning of a wonderful and magical friendship.
