I wrote this song after watching the movie Soul, and suddenly I really felt that thin line between the soul and the body. That’s where the first line of the song was born. It took me almost two years to finish writing the lyrics. This is also the song that opens the album. The one that paved the way for everything that came after. It talks about the connection between soul and body, and about moving through emotions of shame and fear toward moments of real presence. Those quiet moments that feel like winning at life, just by being here with body and soul fully connected, and a kind of real joy. That joy also comes from pain, from dealing with difficulties with feeling present, with feeling connected to myself, with allowing myself to give myself permission. For me, this song is an approval. That I’m just human. That I’m okay. That I’m good. And that I’m allowed to be joyful. This song opens the entire journey of the album. It opened the door to all the themes I explore later on the connection between body and mind, dealing with ego, emotional struggles, escape, suppression, and learning how to really feel.
