Interview w/ New Found Glory - Returning To Europe, Hardcore Roots & Simple Plan Collab Coercion

I had the pleasure of talking to Jordan and Cyrus about playing their first German headliner since 2009 – 3862 days to be exact – as well as enjoying European culture and being crazy party animals (and by that I mean, drinking coffee). Growing up absolutely loving the sound of ‘whiny’ pop-punk vocals (the more nasal the better!!!) and bands singing about high school problems and not fitting in, New Found Glory was instrumental in shaping my musical identity. But rather than punk rock or classic rock the band has always had more of a DNA grounded in hardcore more than anything so I was curious to hear their thoughts on their beginnings in the scene. Also featured in the background is Four Year Strong vocalist and guitarist Dan who is currently filling in for guitarist Chad as he continues to bravely battle a rare form of cancer like an absolute trooper. Jordan (with some input from Dan) reveals how his feature of one of my favorite Simple Plan bangers came about and we look ahead towards the release of their 11th studio album on Pure Noise Records, with the single ‘100%’ just having dropped.
