Endoscopic prediction of submucosal invasion in Barrett’s cancer with the use of artificial intelligence: a pilot study by Alanna Ebigbo, Robert Mendel, Tobias Rückert et al. Summary: In a pilot study, the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in predicting the presence of submucosal invasion in Barrett’srelated cancer was evaluated using white-light images. The performance of experts was also assessed. Although the ability of this AI-based platform to predict submucosal invasion was only equal to that of expert endoscopists, it lays the foundation for future studies using videos and real-time endoscopy.
