Boston University Commencement 2024

The 151st All-University Commencement was held on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at 1 pm on Nickerson Field. The Class of 2024 enjoyed a celebratory Commencement—something most of them had to forego as high school seniors due to the COVID-19 pandemic. BU alumnus David Grann, the best-selling author of Killers of the Flower Moon and The Wager: A Tale of Shipwreck, Mutiny, and Murder, addressed graduates at the ceremony and received an honorary degree. Other honorary degree recipients were Dr. Walter Earl Fluker, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Professor Emeritus of Ethical Leadership in the School of Theology; Kenneth Feld, CEO of Feld Entertainment, BU Trustee Emeritus, and philanthropist; and Claudia Goldin, the Harvard University Henry Lee Professor of Economics and the 2023 recipient of the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel.
