The consultation on how we want to improve our education inspections is now open, and we want to hear from professionals working in the sectors we inspect. We're consulting on a number of changes to the way we inspect and report on early years providers, schools, further education and skills (FES), and initial teacher education (ITE). As part of our proposals, we’re renewing our approach to inspections and improving how we share what we find on inspection. We’re introducing toolkits to make it clear what we’ll look at during inspections and how we’ll make our professional evaluation of different areas of a provider’s work. These will be tailored to the type of setting, giving leaders and inspectors consistent and easy-to-understand information. We’re also introducing report cards to give parents and carers the information they need in a clear, accessible format, giving grades and narratives under a broader range of evaluation areas.
