In September, Nora Bumanis (ESO Principal Harp) and Julianne Scott (ESO Principal Clarinet) recorded a lovely performance of the Suite from "The Victorian Kitchen Garden". Movements: 0:26- Prelude 3:35- Spring 4:35- Mists 6:32- Exotica 7:41- Summer “Paul Reade’s Victorian Kitchen Garden Suite is a refreshing piece that reminds me of the excitement I get at the beginning of each new season. Each movement highlights a different characteristic or stage that a garden goes through. This piece is brought to life by the colours of our instruments, one of the few works written for clarinet and harp!” Julianne Scott, ESO Principal Clarinet “One of the main reasons I was drawn to this work was the opportunity to collaborate with clarinetist and my dear friend Julianne Scott, a talented performer with great musical ideas. I enjoy the dialogue in this piece between the two instruments. It is sometimes quirky and unpredictable and other times lyrical and flowing.
