We are flying to Rapa Nui! We are so psyched to have the opportunity to witness the people, the landscape, the culture! All of it. We are very excited. We stayed at a Hostel called Pua Vaenga and thought it worked perfectly for our basic needs. Would totally stay again! We were raised to call the island "Easter Island" but the island's name is Rapa Nui. The stone heads you are probably familiar with images of, those are called Moai and they are breathtaking. The history of the island is both amazing (the way the people lived and created their own culture in the middle of the Pacific) and absolutely awful (from foreigners killing and enslaving the people to stealing their Moai). There is a podcast labeled "6. Easter Island - Where Giants Walked" by Fall of Civilizations Podcast that we listened to and it was fantastically informational if you want to learn more. As usual, this is not a educational video, it really is just us exploring the parts of the world we can get to. Episode 216 __________ About Us We met in college and started a five year journey to graduate, get jobs, pay off student loans and save money to travel. After getting married we bought a one way ticket to Greece in July of 2021 and have been traveling around the Globe since. Living abroad definitely brings some unique experiences. These laidback Youtube videos will be our way of keeping in touch with family and friends as we explore different countries, try new and strange foods (and of course pizza), and see how many times we can avoid airplane fares. These homevideos will be the only souvenir we end up with at the end (only because nothing else will fit in our bags). Thanks for watching!
