Nissan's idea of transmission service is sorely lacking. I haven't found a single video or article that gives a step by step from start to finish of how to do a transmission fluid flush, change the filters, and do the fluid level adjustment for Nissan Altimas. I've made this video to try to help others out there. I have a 2014 Nissan Altima with 67k that has not been shifting nearly as smooth as it once did. After a good bit of reading and research, I did a full fluid flush and changed both filters on this car along with a thorough cleaning of the transmission pan. This procedure is going to be the same for any 2014+ Altima, although some part numbers may vary. After flushing out the old fluid, changing the filters, and cleaning the pan, my car shifts smooth as butter again. tools you'll need: 3/8"/ 1/2" torque wrench for 25ft lbs torquing of transmission pan drain bolt 1/4" torque wrench for 70in lbs torquing of trans pan mounting bolts and filter bolts 10mm socket - (I used 1/4" drive for the paper housing filter bolts and 3/8" drive for everything else) 10mm wrench (necessary for paper filter housing bolts) 14mm socket 19mm socket extensions about 18" clear drain hose (preferably 5/16" - I had 3/8" on hand and made it work with a clamp but it still leaked a bit while I was flushing) drain pan some kind of container that you can tell when you've drained 2 quarts out - I used an empty Mobile One engine oil jug pliers for clamps - I prefer vice grip needle nose screwdriver / plastic clip removal tools (for under engine splash guard) ELM327 firmware 1.5 bluetooth dongle clean rags - (microfiber ones are great for cleaning out the pan as you don't want to leave lint) razor blade brake cleaner for spraying out transmission pan parts/supplies you'll need: 10-12 quarts of NS-3 Nissan Transmission Fluid seal o-ring 31526-3VX0A (for paper filter housing) paper filter 31726-28X0A seal o-ring 31526-3VX0B (crush washer for fluid level adjustment bolt) washer-Drain plug 11026-JA00A (pan drain bolt crush washer) gasket oil pan 31397-1XF0D strainer-assy oil 31728-1XF03 clips for lower engine shield clip 01553-05933 (this depends on your production month/year) clip 01553-09241 You may also want to pick up a dipstick: Gauge Oil Level 31086-3TA1A I ordered my parts (except for the clips) from Nissanpartsdeal.com. I've used them several times and have gotten what I need in a timely fashion. I'm not advertising for them, I'm just mentioning a website I've used as a resource for those interested. By way of full disclosure, I give credit to this video • Nissan Altima CVT Trans Full Flush fluid S... for helping me to figure this procedure out.
