Expand description for time stamp links to skip around. Welcome to the first of many videos in my series called Watch Me Work where I hit the record button and in mostly real-time record the process and explain my thoughts and procedures. THIS IS NOT A TUTORIAL! Think of it more like a sit-down session while I'm experimenting and creating something. Today I'm making a coffee press or a french press as some people call it. I'm mainly modeling in this video, but I do a little but of rendering with some materials at the end. Apologies for sounding like a chipmunk when a few redundant parts had to be fast forwarded! Adobe Premier reset my audio gain levels when I balanced out all of the audio. Hahaha! Breakdown of the video: 0:00 - Intro 1:12 - Overview of reference 2:08 - Let's get moddeling! 9:20 - Starting the cage 17:36 - Bottom of the cage 35:09 - Adding the handle 42:03 - The plunge part 1:19:24 - Adding the coil to the plunge 1:27:08 - Middle rod of plunge 1:32:00 - Lid 1:37:40 - Lid filter 1:42:12 - Glass lip 1:45:48 - Fixing the handle 1:48:10 - Touch-ups (smoothing out the cage) 1:50:12 - Rendering and creating simple materials!
