Removing your popcorn ceilings and repainting them with a flat white finish is the best way to give your home a more modern (and valuable!) look. NOTE: If your house was built in 1979 or before, test your popcorn ceilings for asbestos. Mine was built in 1983 so I did not need to demonstrate the steps for removing asbestos filled popcorn ceilings.
