GIFT Regional Workshops, Cape Town 2023: the rise of life in Earth's oceans

The European Geosciences Union's Geoscience Information for Teachers (GIFT) regional workshops are dedicated to bringing science to teachers, shortening the time between discovery and textbook, and to provide the teachers with material that can be directly transported to the classroom. GIFT workshops include topical presentations from scientists at the cutting-edge of research together with hands-on teaching activities. The Cape Town GIFT regional workshop was held between 26 and 27 August 2023. The in-person presentations and hands-on activities featured local scientific experts from the University of Cape Town, the Iziko South African Museum, and the Two Oceans Aquarium. The theme for the 2023 Cape Town workshop was ‘Water in Space and Time' .
