BIS has set Standards for Fortified Rice Kernels (FRK) | Know IS 17782 in detail

In accordance with IS 17782, fortified rice kernels must meet certain physical, nutritional, and packaging requirements. All manufacturers and importers are mandatorily required to get #BIS Certification under this Standard. #Fortifiedricekernels (FRK) are rice grains, #fortified with micronutrient premix i.e. vitamins and minerals. The micronutrient premix (VMP) is added to rice-based carrier to form fortified rice kernels using two technologies namely, extrusion and coating. Fortified kernels are blended with non-fortified rice at the two different blending ratios, 1:100 and 1:200.
