Welcome to Pearl Harbor Uncovered, the most comprehensive and immersive tour of Hawaii’s most historic landmark. In this video, we take you on a deep dive into the "Day of Infamy," exploring the stories of heroism, tragedy, and ultimate victory that shaped the course of World War II. From the solemn silence of the USS Arizona Memorial to the towering decks of the "Mighty Mo," this tour covers every pivotal site within the Pearl Harbor National Memorial and the surrounding historic bases. Whether you are a history buff or a first-time visitor to Oahu, this guide provides the essential context and visual journey you need to understand the events of December 7, 1941. 📍 WHAT WE EXPLORE IN THIS TOUR The USS Arizona Memorial: We pay our respects at the final resting place of 1,177 crewmen. This iconic white structure suspended over the sunken hull remains one of the most emotional sites in the world. Battleship Missouri Memorial: Stand on the "Surrender Deck" where World War II officially ended. Explore the corridors of this legendary vessel that served from WWII through Desert Storm. USS Bowfin Submarine (The "Pearl Harbor Avenger"): We head below deck to experience the cramped quarters and incredible technology of the submarine that led the retaliation in the Pacific. Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum: Located in Hangars 37 and 79 on Ford Island, this museum still bears the bullet holes from the 1941 attack. We get up close with an authentic Japanese Zero and the B-25 Mitchell. The Visitor Center Galleries: A look at the "Road to War" and "Attack" galleries, featuring artifacts, personal memorabilia, and rare photographs from the era. 🕒 TOUR LOGISTICS & TIMELINE This is a full-day, 9.5-hour experience designed to give you ample time at every location without feeling rushed. Duration: 6:45 AM – 4:15 PM Type: Daily Comprehensive Tour Inclusions: Round-trip air-conditioned transportation, expert live narration, all admission tickets, and lunch at the Aviation Museum’s Hangar Cafe (with options for all dietary needs). ⚠️ IMPORTANT UPDATE: USS ARIZONA MEMORIAL CLOSURE Please note that the USS Arizona Memorial will be closed for approximately six weeks starting September 3, 2025. During this period, the boat shuttle to the memorial itself will be unavailable. However, our tour has been enhanced with a complimentary audio tour at the Visitor Center to ensure you still receive the full historical narrative and emotional weight of the Arizona’s story through detailed insights and survivor accounts. ⚓ HIGHLIGHTS YOU CAN'T MISS The Black Tears: Seeing the oil still leaking from the USS Arizona, rising to the surface like "black tears" from the ship. The Surrender Plaque: Standing exactly where General Douglas MacArthur signed the instruments of surrender on the USS Missouri. Hangar 79: Seeing the blue glass windows of the Aviation Museum that are still shattered from Japanese strafing runs. Pacific Fleet Submarine Museum: Learning about the "Silent Service" and the incredible bravery of the men who lived beneath the waves. 💡 PRO TIPS FOR YOUR PEARL HARBOR VISIT No Bag Policy: For security reasons, no purses, handbags, backpacks, or diaper bags are allowed in the park. You can store bags at the entrance for a small fee, but it’s best to leave them at your hotel. Dress Code: This is a place of honor and mourning. While casual clothing is fine, please dress respectfully. Swimsuits are not permitted. Stay Hydrated: The Hawaiian sun is intense, especially on the decks of the Missouri. Audio Tours: Even if you have a guide, the National Park Service audio tour at the Visitor Center is highly recommended for hearing actual survivor interviews.
