Surviving & Thriving: Jamie Yeo & Lay Teng Open Up About Their Breast Cancer Battles

As a young mother-to-be , Lay Teng was full of hope for the future of her family. However, a subtle lump in her breast found during a self-examination was the first sign of something more serious. Within months of finding a lump, Lay Teng received a life-changing diagnosis of breast cancer. She took the diagnosis in stride, inducing labour for her baby and undergoing chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and even targeted therapy in her battle against breast cancer. For Jamie Yeo, ex-Mediacorp Artiste and popular host and radio DJ, she also has her journey to share. After discovering a lump in her breast during a regular self-examination, she too had to go through the mental and emotional turmoil that is breast cancer. In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2023, Jamie and Lay Teng have bravely come forward to share their story, with the aim of educating everyone about Breast Cancer, and the importance of early detection in catching the cancer early, where cure rate is the highest.
