OvenBakedMuffin's analysis and review of lag in Black Ops 2 (Please watch this as well, he goes into a ton of detail): • BlackOps2 Lag Compensation and Review and his followup video: • BlackOps2: Misconceptions OvenBakedMuffin revealed to us that there are lag issues on LAN, which kind of makes sense when you consider that there are multiple clients involved, but how could you have this problem offline in splitscreen? Is the issue broken lag compensation, is the camera broken, or is it something else? I made this video in response to OvenBakedMuffin's detailed analysis of the lag in LAN and how it ties together with latency. All tests here were performed offline in a local splitscreen lobby. OvenBakedMuffin believes the camera isn't the issue and suggests it's some sort of effect of lag compensation on local matches (the hit detection lag suggests this). I'm thinking that there is a misaligned moving camera and it aggravates the lag issues that are already present in the game (since the "moving" delays always seem to be longer than the hit detection delay and the prone/crouch animations clearly already have this problem). In any case, it's still interesting to see that this problem occurs offline in local lobbies and not only when there's multiple clients involved... Again, I highly recommend watching OvenBakedMuffin's analysis of this. He provides a better analysis of this. This is just a short video response to his.
