Forgiveness isn’t self-care. It’s the surrender of judicial rights. Most “forgiveness teaching” today is emotional management with a Bible verse on top—designed to keep you polite, regulated, and quiet… while you’re still prosecuting somebody in your head. But biblical forgiveness is not therapy. It’s jurisdiction transfer. In this episode of BORNE, we walk straight through Matthew 18 (the Unforgiving Servant) to expose what unforgiveness actually does: it keeps the case open, restricts spiritual authority, and can even invite torment—after mercy has already been offered. You’ll learn: • Why forgiveness is not agreement with evil • Why forgiveness does NOT automatically restore access • How to forgive without enabling sin • How the blood of Jesus speaks a better word than accusation • How to close the case with people while staying at war with the spiritual forces behind the pattern And yes—if you’re still giving closing arguments in the shower, the case is not closed. @theBORNEpodcast 📖 Key Scriptures (CSB) • Matthew 18:21–35 — The Parable of the Unforgiving Servant • Hebrews 12:24 — The sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than Abel • 1 Timothy 2:5 — One mediator between God and humanity: Christ Jesus • Hebrews 7:25 — He always lives to make intercession • 1 John 2:1 — We have an advocate with the Father • Ephesians 6:12 — Our struggle is not against flesh and blood • James 1:20 — Human anger does not accomplish God’s righteousness • Luke 17:3–4 — If he repents, forgive him • 2 Corinthians 10:4–5 — Weapons that destroy strongholds • Ephesians 4:26–27 — Give no opportunity to the devil • James 4:7 — Submit to God. Resist the devil. If this episode helped you, share it with someone who’s trying to heal without reopening the case. 0:00 – Forgiveness isn’t self-care: surrender judicial rights 0:39 – What “judicial rights” means (closing the case) 0:56 – Offending believers = offending Jesus 1:33 – Authority + territory: stop prosecuting 1:45 – Matthew 18: Unforgiving Servant 4:27 – Justice still matters (Romans 12–13 / Matthew 18 discipline) 5:20 – Christ our Mediator; blood speaks 6:45 – New Covenant: access secured by Jesus 7:19 – Not flesh and blood: cosmic foe 9:52 – Therapeutic Christianity critique 11:41 – Standing against evil without vengeance 17:11 – India story: unseen realm clarity 22:47 – Closing call + freedom #Forgiveness #ChristianLiving #SpiritualWarfare #Deliverance #InnerHealing #CourtsOfHeaven #BibleTeaching #BornePodcast #ChristianFormation #Healing
