Recording: Knowledge Session on the Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) with India’s FCC

In 2024, India emerged as the jurisdiction with the highest annual growth rate, recording an impressive 45.5% increase. As the adoption of the Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) continues to gain momentum in India, GLEIF partnered with the Fintech Convergence Council (FCC) to further promote awareness of the benefits of the LEI and its digital counterpart, the verifiable LEI (vLEI). The FCC, established in 2017 under the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI), is a dedicated fintech committee comprising more than 185 fintech companies across various strategic sectors. During this Knowledge Session, held on December 13, 2024, Xue Tan, GLEIF’s Head of Business Development for Asia, and Vikas Panwar, Country Business Manager – India, jointly highlighted the growing significance of global standards, provided an overview of existing regulations supporting LEI adoption in India, and demonstrated how the LEI and vLEI are revolutionizing various industries through an increasing number of applications and use cases.
