If you’re looking for a quick, cheesy, and incredibly satisfying dinner, these crispy tortilla pockets are exactly what you need. Golden on the outside, juicy on the inside, and filled with flavorful beef and melted cheese — this recipe is simple, budget-friendly, and absolutely irresistible. Ingredients (for 10 envelopes) • 5 sheets of lavash or tortillas • 400–500 g minced meat (pork, beef, or mixed) • 1 medium onion • 10 tomatoes • 4 tbsp canned corn • 150 g hard cheese (mozzarella, gouda, or other cheese that melts well) • 100 g Parmesan cheese • a pinch of dill for aroma • salt to taste • black pepper to taste • paprika — to taste • 1–2 tablespoons vegetable oil Preparation 1. Prepare the filling Heat a frying pan with a small amount of oil. Add the minced meat and fry over medium heat, breaking it up into small pieces with a spatula. 2. Add the onion and spices Finely chop the onion and add it to the minced meat. Season with salt and pepper, add paprika. Cook for another 2–3 minutes until the onion is soft and fragrant. 3. Cool the filling Remove the pan from the heat and let the filling cool slightly. This is important so that the lavash does not get soggy. 4. Add vegetables and herbs Cut the tomatoes in half. Add the corn to the minced meat. Mix well. 5. Prepare the lavash Cut each sheet of lavash in half. You should have 10 pieces. 6. Form the envelopes Place 2–3 tablespoons of filling on each piece. Sprinkle with a small amount of grated cheese. 7. Prepare the baking dish Line a baking dish with parchment paper or foil and lightly grease with oil. 8. Arrange the envelopes Place them in the dish with the seam facing down. Sprinkle generously with grated cheese. 9. Bake Place in an oven preheated to 180°C for 15 minutes, until the cheese has melted completely and turned golden brown. 10. Finishing touches Remove the parcels from the oven and immediately sprinkle with grated Parmesan and the remaining dill. Serve the envelopes hot — when the cheese is still stringy and the lavash is crispy. It tastes great with sour cream or garlic sauce. Bon appetit! Thank you for cooking with me.
